Listed Leeds landmark attracts seven tenants

The Leeming Building in Leeds has become the new home of seven businesses since opening its doors in April following an extensive refurbishment.

The scheme, which now has 70% of the space either let or under offer, has attracted two new businesses to Leeds – Cream Consultancy, a PR company previously based in Barnsley, and LA Marzocco a producer of handmade Italian coffee machines.

Other occupiers include two specialist recruitment companies, Amsource Technology and Catalyst, two design agencies, Analogue and Common Room Design, and Planet Sport, a sports media specialist.

Constructed in 1904 and originally conceived as the traders’ offices for the Leeds City Markets, this Grade I listed building, which sits next to the new Victoria Gate and John Lewis development, has undergone an extensive refurbishment to offer workspace for various business sizes.

WSB Property Consultants and Sanderson Weatherall are appointed by development managers TPS on behalf of Freshwater Group and acted on each of the transactions.

Mark Newton, director at TPS, said: “We are delighted with the initial success we have achieved at The Leeming Building and that we are able to offer local businesses space within one of the city’s most significant and important architectural assets.”

Alex Jowett at WSB said: “The extensive take-up within the building highlights the unique opportunity this major part of Leeds history offers to businesses looking to occupy truly unique office space.

“The building has been re-designed to deliver creative workspace for creative thinkers. We believe we offer one of the most unique opportunities within the city for creative businesses.”
