200-capacity cocktail bar takes on Leeds city centre spot

Bar brand Red Door, launched by the late Living Ventures boss Tim Bacon, is launching in Leeds with a 200-capacity cocktail bar.

The Call Lane site is the former home of Hirst’s Yard. Red Door, which has sites in Chester and Liverpool, will be unveiling its first Leeds site in late August.

The group said the new site will be reminiscent of a US dive bar and an eclectic soundtrack that will switch between soul, funk, disco R&B, pop and live music, with each bartender trained to make 100 cocktails.

The brand was launched back in 2010 by the late, great Living Ventures boss, Tim Bacon, along with Chester entrepreneur Dave Hinds and Liverpool-born cocktail virtuoso Lee Lynch.

Lee Lynch, managing director said “We are majorly excited to bring Red Door to Leeds. There is such a great cocktail scene and some really cool bars, we think [it] will fit right in.

“I was part of the team that opened Prohibitiona and Living Room back in the day and I know people in Leeds can party. I believe Red Door will bring a new vibrancy to Call Lane and certainly shake things up.”

The 200-capacity cocktail bar will officially open on Friday 24 August.
