People: FD hired at Town Centre Securities and property specialist joins Lupton Fawcett

The Leeds and London-based property investment company Town Centre Securities has hired a new finance director.

Mark Dilley has been hired as group finance director, having joined last month after spending 14 years at Asda Stores, where he was appointed vice president for retail and property finance. He was responsible for all Asda stores and distribution centres as well as new store acquisitions.

In addition to his role at Asda, the new TCS Finance Director held positions at Unilever and JP Morgan.

Dilley said: “I am very happy to be joining the company, especially at such an exciting time. This position appealed to me on many fronts as it’s a new challenge for me personally but also gives me the chance to work for a company that has maintained the culture and values of its founder.

“I hope I’ll be able to add real value supporting the business as it identifies more growth opportunities and potential investments, using the skills and experience I’ve developed working in other large businesses. I am also looking forward to working with Edward Ziff and the rest of the board as they use their existing, strong financial platform to unlock these new growth opportunities.”

Edward Ziff, chairman and chief executive of Town Centre Securities, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to welcome Mark to the business. We were in no doubt that he was the right man for the job and are looking forward to working with him on our upcoming projects. He brings some exceptional experience to the role and will be an asset to myself and the team as we continue with our development programme.”

The Sheffield office of Lupton Fawcett has been strengthened with the appointment of commercial property lawyer, Satinder Mander.

She has joined Lupton Fawcett’s Sheffield office as a senior solicitor, with experience in complex lease matters, for both landlord and tenant, through to corporate acquisitions.

More recently, Satinder has acted for national developers on portfolio acquisitions and disposals for both commercial and residential developments.

Satinder, said: “I am delighted to be joining Lupton Fawcett, as it has an excellent reputation within the property sector. It also has one of the largest specialist property departments in Yorkshire, with 20 fee earners working across its Sheffield, Leeds and York offices. I am therefore looking forward to bringing my skills to help further strengthen the team.”

Head of Lupton Fawcett’s Sheffield property department, Julian Rowden, said: “Satinder is well respected in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire for her knowledge, expertise and sound advice. It is excellent that she has chosen to join Lupton Fawcett, as we continue to grow the property division and further strengthen the Sheffield Office.”
