Appointments: Law firm Walker Morris hires planning barrister; Renumeration committee chairman hired at CPP

Former planning barrister Alison Ogley has been hired at Walker Morris as partner.

She rejoins Walker Morris having previously worked in the firm’s planning & environment team before moving to Kings Chambers to practice as a barrister.

Alison brings particular specialist expertise in wildlife and biodiversity matters having obtained a Masters in environmental law and advising on the first case to obtain Secretary of State approval for the use of biodiversity offsetting to mitigate development impacts on wildlife.

Life assistance business CPP Group has hired Tim Elliott as a non-executive director and audit committee chairman

He will join the group with effect from 1 September 2017, subject to regulatory approval.

Tim has many years’ experience in the financial services sector, including with J P Morgan, Barclays Capital and, most recently, as a partner of KPMG.

Chairman, Sir Richard Lapthorne, commented: “On behalf of the Board I am delighted to welcome Tim to CPP.
