Traffic Alert: M1 West Yorkshire closed southbound

The M1 in West Yorkshire is currently closed southbound between J48 and J46 due to a collision involving an HGV.

Northbound traffic is also being diverted via the exit and entry slips at the J47 junction.

A detour is in operation, which will see vehicles continue on the M1 southbound and diverge onto the A1M southbound for 3 miles until J42. Exit the A1M at the J42 exit slip and then take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the A63. Continue on this road for 6 miles until the junction with the M1. At this roundabout, take the 1st exit and rejoin the M1 south at J46.

The AA reported a rolled over truck between the A1M Aberford Bypass and J46 Selby Road. it said a tanker has overturned onto the central reservation just after J47 at 13.30 today.
