Property People: CBRE boosts industrial agency team; Housebuilder makes senior appointment; and more

 

Housebuilder Miller Homes has recruited a production director to assist in the continued growth of its regional operations.

Wayne Sutton has joined the Yorkshire Miller Homes team, based in Wakefield, and brings more than 35 years of industry knowledge and skills to the business.

“Wayne is skilled and knowledgeable about housebuilding and managing in a diverse range of sectors,” said Andrew Davis, regional managing director Miller Homes Yorkshire.

“I am confident he will make a significant contribution to the existing senior team as we continue to invest and create new homes communities across the region making a real difference to the lives of many.”

The Leeds office of CBRE has appointed Sophie Angus to its industrial and logistics agency team.

Angus joined CBRE’s Leeds division in September 2015 on the property firm’s graduate training scheme.  A graduate of Northumbria University, she has a Masters in real estate.

Angus has now moved into a permanent position within the industrial team, working alongside Mike Baugh and Dave Cato.

Baugh, senior director of CBRE’s industrial agency team in Leeds, said: “After spending almost two years with CBRE on our graduate scheme, Sophie has become a fantastic asset to the team and has gained extensive cross-division experience.  We are delighted to have her on board in a permanent role in the industrial agency team to support our valued and growing client base across the north of England.”

Opus North, Yorkshire-based property development and investment company, has strengthened its team with the appointment of James Farnaby as development manager.

Farnaby, a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, joins Opus North from Land Securities.

After graduating, he worked for Projex Building Solutions, before being seconded to Land Securities in 2015.

He commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and well-respected development company with an excellent track record and exciting plans for the future.”

Law firm Taylor&Emmet is expanding its commercial property team to strengthen the legal advice it provides to North Derbyshire’s rural businesses.

Bryony Shaw joins the Sheffield-based solicitors to take on a mixed workload of commercial work at the firm’s Bakewell office.

She will be assisting Taylor&Emmet’s commercial property partner in Bakewell, George Thomson.

Shaw worked previously at Sheffield firm Ironmonger Curtis, where she provided corporate support for the sale and purchase of dental practices.

She said: “Taking on a much wider commercial property remit is enabling me to broaden my knowledge base and technical skills. Taylor&Emmet is a large firm with professional support systems and I have been really impressed with what I’ve seen so far.”
