People: Yorkshire sports lawyers scores FA role; Senior appointment at Park Leisure; Raft of hires at Land Rover Defender specialist

Sports lawyer peter McCormick OBE has been made vice-chairman of the Football Association.

McCormick, senior partner at Harrogate firm McCormicks Solicitors, will continue to represent the Premier League on the board of the FA.

The FA completed a reform process of its constitution and management in May this year and McCormick will be part of its new 10-strong Board

He was proposed for the post of vice-chairman jointly by the Premier League and the English Football League and was unanimously voted in by all the professional game and professional game-aligned representatives.

His roles at the Premier League, which include chairman of the Football Board, chairman of the Legal Advisory Group, chairman of the Premier League Medical Care Scheme Ltd, chairman of Football Stadia Improvement Fund Ltd and trustee of the Football Foundation, remain unchanged.

Leisure holiday homes provider Park Leisure has hired Louisa Rodriguez as head of learning and development.

A new role for Park Leisure, Head of Learning and Development will see Louisa work closely with the HR team to ensure all employees are given the opportunity to grow and develop during their career.

Louisa’s role will focus on overseeing Park Leisure’s leadership programme, talent development and employee engagement and retention.

She said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the Park Leisure team. I am driven by a passion for people, helping others and making a positive difference.

“My vision is to get to know every member of the Park Leisure team across the parks, finding out about what their hopes and aspirations are for their career development, and to support them on this journey.”

Park Leisure operates 11 parks, located across the UK in stunning country and coastal settings, including Northumberland, Cornwall, Lancashire, Herefordshire, North Wales and North Yorkshire.


Land Rover Defender specialist Twisted Automotive has made a raft of additions to its team.

It has hired seven new staff in the past three months, bringing its total workforce to 23.

New parts co-ordinator Ariane Schofield will manage stock allocation and rotation, whilst workshop manager Chris Walker will schedule build times.

Richard Robinson has joined Twisted as a sales executive; Sue Liddle joins as a sales administrator; James Ayre is Twisted’s new marketing co-ordinator; Helen Thompson has been appointed as receptionist and sales administrator and Lisa Bradley arrives in an accounts and HR role.

Elsewhere, Linzi McKenzie has moved from duties on reception to join the sales team, while also working alongside LR Motors general manager Ross Munro.

Twisted has reported strong early sales following the recent launch of its new Classic range of vehicles, and recently announced a three-year sponsorship deal with global motor brand and rally Gumball 3000.

LR Motors is an independent motor company, operating alongside Twisted Automotive, offering exclusively Land Rover Defender. LR Motors sources, sells, services, repairs and supplies parts for Defender from 1990 onwards.
