The Great Escape Game creates jobs with £350,000 investment

The Great Escape Game has created 20 jobs in Sheffield with a £350,000 investment in a second site.

The Game first opened in January 2015 in the city, and it has noow invested in new premises at St James’ House on Vicar Lane.

It has three escape rooms and can host 48 players an hour, plus a fully licensed bar and private event area.

Sheffield’s second generation of escape games is set to provide a further 20 jobs for locals within the Sheffield City Region.

The Great Escape Game director, Hannah Duraid (pictured above) said: “I’m excited for the public to see the journey we have been on. Our new games transport you away from the reality of day to day life and into worlds of adventure.

“The three games at the new premises include not one but two rooms for the UK’s Most Technologically Advanced game, Submerged, so two teams can play against each other; and Abducted; Sheffield’s first 18+ horror escape game.”

Aaron Giles, creative development manager, said: “We are really looking forward to seeing our supporters’ faces when they see how far we have come and unveil how much further we plan to go.

“Submerged could be the most technologically advanced game the country has ever seen. Furthermore, it allows two teams to battle each other in a deep sea game of cat and mouse. With the addition of a fully licensed bar and a hireable private function area, we think we’re going to bring an even more special activity to our exceptional city.”
