Estate agents snaps up North Leeds rival

Estate agents Manning Stainton have completed their second acquisition in four months, purchasing an independent North Leeds agent.

Adel-based Clear Properties is becoming part of the Manning Stainton group, having been established in 2004.

Owner Terry Robinson is exiting the business, and as part of the purchase Manning Stainton will take over the Clear Properties lettings portfolio, as it looks to strengthen its position as the leading lettings agent in the area through organic growth and future acquisitions.

Mark Manning, managing director of Manning Stainton (pictured) said: ‘We have known the Directors of Clear Properties for some years and when the time came for them to consider selling we were delighted that we were able to agree a mutually amicable arrangement.’

Terry Robinson, director of Clear Properties added: ‘My main priority when looking to sell the business was to ensure that the management of my existing clients was in the safest possible hands.

“Having received a number of approaches from other agents it was clear that Manning Stainton shared our customer service values along with having a reputation for excellence.”

Manning continued: “Following the recent acquisition of AR Estates in Crossgates this agreement with Clear Properties makes our continued ambitions to work with other like-minded businesses clear, if they feel the time has come for them to sell.”

He added: ‘It’s clear to see that the industry is experiencing some fundamental changes and we feel that our expertise in the industry, aligned with our extensive branch network could be of real benefit to independent agents and landlords during these challenging times.”

Manning Stainton currently has 19 residential sales and lettings branches across West and North Yorkshire.
