MasterChef semi-finalist Leeds city centre restaurant

A BBC MasterChef semi-finalist, Elizabeth Cottam, has launched HOME in Leeds city centre alongside head chef at Michelin-starred restaurant The Box Tree in Ilkley.

Mark Owens has teamed up with Cottam for the fine dining restaurant, set to launch today (18 August).

The 16-17 Kirkgate site is 3,669 sq ft and was formerly a dance hall, billiard club, cinema, and Indian restaurant. It can now fit 65 covers.

It will offer set menus exclusively, from three course lunch menus to ten course tasting menus, featuring a range of seasonal and local ingredients.

The pair have also created a monthly ‘guinea pig’ dinner party concept which will see guests dine for £35 per person, but will not be given a menu for the evening. Each course will be a surprise for guests, presented with an explanation by HOME’s front of house team.

Elizabeth said: “This project has been an incredible journey so far, both Mark and I have poured our hearts and souls into the restaurant and we hope guests will enjoy sharing the experience with us and much as we have enjoyed bringing it to life.

“It means a great deal to be able to open a restaurant in your home town and we’re looking forward to showing people a new way of experiencing fine dining, right on their doorstep.”
