Leeds restaurant makes top 50 in The Good Food Guide

Leeds’ only Michelin-starred restaurant, The Man Behind the Curtain, is the only Yorkshire entrant to the Waitrose Good Food Guide this year.

Staples like London’s The Ritz and Heston Blumenthal’s three Michelin-starred Berkshire restaurant The Fat Duck have returned to the list

The top place was taken by Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Cornwall, which exclusively serves fish tasting menus using fresh Cornish seafood. It has beaten L’Enclume after the Cumbrian restaurant relinquished its spot after five years on top.

Leeds restaurant The Man Behind the Curtain just placed in the list, coming in 50th place.

It was launched in 2014 by chef Michael O’Hare, and was scored a seven out of 10 in the Good Food Guide this year.

It made headlines after becoming Leeds’ first Michelin-starred restaurants in several years.

It has recently signed a contract for a new premises in Leeds in the Victoria Gate area, in the basement of 68-74 Vicar Lane. The new site includes an open kitchen and bar area and the 5,600 sq ft premises, with 60 covers, will open in the autumn.
