Latest phase of 700-home regeneration project starts

A batch of 68 new homes is set to be delivered by residential specialist Compendium Living as part of a major regeneration project.

The Hull regeneration scheme will eventually see 700 homes built on the site, called The Leeway 2 off Saltshouse Road in Ings.

This phase will deliver a total of 68 new homes to meet local housing demand.

Four two bedroom bungalows will be made available to local people via affordable housing provider Together Housing.

The remaining 64 two, three and four bedroom homes will be available for sale on the open market from early 2018.

Dave Bullock, managing director at Compendium Living said: “This is an exciting time for us to start work on the next phase of our regeneration project in Ings, as we recently won a Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Award for our project Weston Heights in Stoke-on-Trent.

“We have been working in partnership with Hull City Council to offer much needed homes. The Ings regeneration development will eventually provide over 700 new homes, which will also contribute towards the growth of Hull.

“We are particularly proud to be building in Hull during its tenure as the City of Culture for 2017.”

Councillor John Black, Hull City Council Housing Portfolio Holder for Infrastructure and Housing said: “Compendium Living is progressing well with its development as part of our regeneration project for East Hull.

“It is fantastic that an award winning homebuilder is providing high quality homes in Ings, which will help to transform and provide economic growth for Hull. We look forward to working on future phases with Compendium Living.”

Compendium Living’s regeneration project Weston Heights, which has provided 280 homes for Stoke-on-Trent, recently won a Building Excellence Award for Best High Volume New Housing Development.

Another regeneration scheme by Compendium Living which is well underway is a £100m project called Castleward, which will provide 800 new homes, 35,000 square feet of commercial retail space and a new primary school in Derby.
