Kier snaps up land for residential development

Kier Living has snapped up land in Driffield to enable it to start work on phase one of its 15-acre residential site.

The East Yorkshire market town is to be home to Kier’s latest project, with the first phase of 42 homes which will be available for occupation by May 2018.

The Sycamore Park site will start work next month to enable the company to start selling properties by January 2018.

Kier Living has also submitted a planning application for phase two at Sycamore Park which will offer a further 86 two, three and four bedroom properties including eight ‘affordable’ homes.

David Mackintosh, sales and marketing director at Kier Living Northern, said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase and progress with phase one at Sycamore Park. Driffield is an established and popular residential area that sits in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds and is steeped in history.

“It maintains the quaint familiarity of a civil parish but is ideally located in a commuter location for the cities of York and Hull, 2017 City of Culture. It is also equidistant to the coastal attractions of Scarborough and Bridlington, both just 20 miles away.

“Schools and amenities are also plentiful and within walking distance, giving the country lifestyle without an isolated compromise.

“We are committed to start development on site next month and hope to release phase one properties for sale before the end of 2017.”
