Law firm completes sale of financial services arm
Simpson Millar Financial Services, a subsidiary of law firm Simpson Millar which has offices in Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham, has been sold to its managing director James Mann for an undisclosed sum.
Simpson Millar Financial Services provides specialist independent financial advice to recipients of personal injury and clinical negligence settlements, and to other private clients.
It will be renamed Dune Financial Planning and will continue to service all its clients without disruption.
The firm said the sale reflects its strategic objective to focus on its core consumer legal services business.

Mann has been at the helm of Simpson Millar’s financial services department for over a decade – most recently as managing director when Simpson Millar Financial Services was authorised and regulated by the FCA in 2013.
He now plans to grow his client base further; in particular through referrals from other professionals in the clinical negligence, personal injury and private client field.

Advising clients on how to invest their legal settlements is a niche area that benefits from real specialist advice and experience.
