Cosmetics brand looking good for growth

Cosmetics brand Cougar Products, which manufactures and distributes products around the world to clients such as Ocado and Ideal World, has secured a £250,000 funding package to support its growth plans.

A continued rise in commercial popularity led to the Bradford business needing a funding line, and it returned to Bibby Financial Services (BFS) for the funding injection.

“Winning new business is essential to a company’s survival, however, fulfilling a large influx of orders can be a significant financial burden. This is the situation that Cougar Products found itself in and was in need of a significant cash injection due to a spike in new contracts,” said BFS.

Paula Dunne, managing director, Cougar Products, said: “Historically, our business started by importing products from around the world and selling them at Leeds Market. We’ve come a long way since then.

“We initially had a facility with BFS to assist us with a period of growth in July 2015. After leaving on good terms, we knew that we could turn to BFS again if we ever required additional support, and that is exactly what we did.

“Having the funding we required within three days of asking was absolutely fantastic and allowed us to honour the new contracts we had taken on, while continuing to focus on manufacturing cruelty-free products.”

Zoe Cleghorn, business development manager at Bibby Financial Services, added: “Cougar Products needed a funding line that could be put in place as quickly as possible. Within three days we were able to supply it with a funding line worth £250,000 – an excellent example of how efficient BFS’s service really is.

“As an experienced wholesale funder, we understand the pressures and risks of the wholesale sector. A business that has a well-established client base like Cougar Products needs the right type of funding to flourish.”
