Roxy Ball Room names Nottingham opening date

Roxy Ball Room, the regional operator which announced it was to set up a Nottingham venue earlier this year, has revealed its opening date.

Opening on Thursday 12 October, the games focused venue will bring a “fun, lively and sociable atmosphere” to its new premises at 10 Thurland Street.

The brainchild of Yorkshire-born brothers Matt and Ben Jones, Roxy Ball Room has seen a rapid expansion since opening its first bar in Leeds in 2013.

Co-owner Matt Jones said: “Roxy Ball Room was founded in a rebellious spirit, going against the norms of what was around us. We were inspired by the games culture in London bars and wanted to offer something fun and different to customers.”

“We’ve secured a perfect location in Hockley and we are really looking forward to introducing the Roxy brand into the city.”

Located above MOJO on Thurland Street, the Nottingham bar will be the sixth opening in five years for the group.

Head of finance and co-owner, Ben Jones, said: “Every Roxy Ball Room is tailored to the local area, with bespoke beer pong tables hand built and spray painted in-house for all of our bars.”

“We’re also going to have a unique private hire area called The Shed which will have its own games tables and draught beer station.

“We get a really diverse mix of customers in our bars from people celebrating birthdays, date nights and after work drinks. We can’t wait for Nottingham to see what we have to offer.”

Matt added: “Whether you’re coming for a quick game of ping-pong after work, or hiring a games table for an all-night party, there’s something for everyone.”
