An energy management company is on track to increase its workforce and broaden its services over the next 12 months following a £100,000 investment from UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE).

Flixborough Eco Technologies will use the cash injection to develop a network of sustainability professionals, purchase additional hard and software, as well as marketing support to enable the ongoing growth for the business.

Established in 2012, Flixborough Eco Technologies is headed up by Giles Barker, an experienced construction and sustainability professional, working alongside Stuart Turner, who joined the business as technical director in 2014, and customer relationship manager Sheralee Thompson.

Barker said: “The funding has been vital to our continued growth and expansion, and has really helped us to drive the business forward as we continue to increase our regional and national scope.

“It is of key importance to us as a business to invest in the North Lincolnshire region, and with the funding provided by UKSE we have been able to invest in a local subcontract network of sustainability professionals, vital to our expansion and allowing us to meet the continued demand from clientele in the area.”

Alan Stanley from UKSE said: “Giles has built Flixborough Eco Technologies up from a start up to a rapidly expanding business with numerous corporate clients in less than five years, and we are delighted to have provided this investment to assist with further growth and job creation in the Scunthorpe & North Lincolnshire area.”
