People: Accountancy firm appoints director of banking; Law firm expands again; and more

York and Leeds-based accountancy practice Garbutt + Elliott has appointed a director of banking.

David Streather takes up the position after 36 years at Lloyds Bank, where he most recently was the area director for SME Banking across East and North Yorkshire.

Based in the firm’s York office, he will advise Garbutt + Elliott’s clients on banking facilities and assist in securing finance to achieve their business aims.

He said: “Garbutt + Elliott’s reputation in the region for the quality and experience of its people is excellent.

Law firm Freeths has expanded its planning and environment group across the firm’s network of 11 offices.

Andy McMullan joins as director in the Manchester office to lead planning consultancy in the North West and Yorkshire regions.

He joins from Knight Frank and will work closely with planning lawyer Michelle Spark who joins from Addleshaw Goddard as senior associate in Leeds.

In Sheffield, Arunsiri Doheny-Adams joins from Bond Dickinson as an environmental lawyer.

Front, the Sheffield based creative agency, has added to its account management team with the appointment of Seb Gloger who joins as a junior account manager.

Gloger has just completed a three-year degree in politics and international relations at The University of Sheffield. He will be working across the agency’s roster of clients who operate in various industries including the attractions, tourism, retail, consumer products, food and drink and automotive sectors.
