Leeds plays host to international legal eagles

Last week saw Leeds welcome the arrival of legal professionals from across the world.

Around 70 representatives from countries including Brazil, Russia, Canada and Cote d’Ivoire are being hosted by Shulmans on behalf of the legal network Interlegal.

The Interlegal network, with representatives from over 40 countries including new members from Japan, Israel, Sweden and Turkey, met at Leeds Civic Hall as they discussed how to collaborate more effectively as international businesses.

The event started with the delegates listening to speakers including Tom Riordan, chief executive Leeds City Council, Roger Marsh, chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership and Andrew Cooper, chief executive LeedsBID.

There were Q&A sessions and debates covering a range of topics including building better alliances, the business, cultural and socio-political aspects and appeal of cities, such as Leeds – the benefits of working with hubs outside London, and international legal policy, post Brexit

Next year’s meeting will be held in Moscow in May.
