Winter festival gets Totally Tipi

Two Yorkshire companies are teaming up to bring a unique festive experience to Huddersfield’s first Winter Festival.

Barnsley-based Totally Tipi’s travelling bar Hygge Tipi will be at the event, organised in partnership with not for profit community group Huddersfield Live.

Hygge Tipi is a pop up licensed bar which provides the perfect winter refuge with its roaring fire and warm welcome. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the children’s Winter Wonderland Workshop and carol singing, which also form part of the Huddersfield Winter Festival.

‘Hygge’ pronounced “hoo-guh” is a Danish concept which is best described as a quality of cosiness or comfort.

Jay Ashton, director at Totally Tipi, said: “We’ve been so pleased with the growing popularity of our Hygge Tipi after its appearances around Yorkshire this year. We were thrilled to be asked by Huddersfield Live to join its Winter Festival celebrations – our joint efforts will make the event a real treat.”

Huddersfield Winter Festival will run from 17th November until 1st January 2018, Wednesday to Sunday 11am – 9pm at St George’s Square.

Sam Watt, Director of Huddersfield Live said: “We want our Winter Festival to be a centrepiece for the town over the Christmas period. We have a feeling Hygge Tipi will be one of its most popular attractions.”
