People: Senior promotions at DWF; New partner at challenger law firm; and more

International legal business DWF has announced four senior annual promotions within its Leeds office as part of its November promotion round, including a new partner.

The new partner is Infrastructure & Projects lawyer Christian Hellmund who specialises in energy law, renewable energies & technologies and waste & infrastructure projects. Meanwhile insurance specialist Amanda Stipetic and costs specialist Lionel Marcus have now been elevated to Director level and specialist litigation lawyer Duraid Al-Musaied has been promoted to Manager.

DWF Leeds also promoted real estate lawyer Craig Tordoff and commercial lawyer Hannah Butterworth earlier this year.

DWF in Leeds has around 274 employees and acts for a number of clients including Tesco, Catalina and Motor Insurers’ Bureau.

Geraint Pinches

Geraint Pinches has joined challenger law firm, gunnercooke llp, as a commercial and real estate disputes partner. Pinches was previously a partner at the Leeds office of Lupton Fawcett.

Pinches said: “gunnercooke is a fantastic example of a 21st century firm where its founders created a legal services provider which puts clients first, and delivers on time, on point, and with price certainty.

The firm now has over 30 Yorkshire-based senior practitioners across all commercial disciplines, including dispute resolution, real estate, banking, corporate and employment.

Pinches added: “It’s an exciting and innovative model and one which I believe will really shake up the whole legal services sector for the better over the next few years, which can only be a good thing for clients.”

Mr Pinches will primarily be based in Leeds, but will operate nationally.
