Law firm Weightmans, which has an office at Westgate Point in Leeds, has announced record half year results as it welcomes a new group finance director to help lead the firm through further growth.

The firm has announced a record half year revenue of £44m, up 7.3% on the previous year and the first financial results since the introduction of its new structure and strategy in May.

The news comes as the firm welcomes Bob Granger to the role of group finance director.

Granger joins the firm from Lakeland, where he was finance and retail director for 13 years and instrumental in the transformation of the business into a digitally focused and international business.

His career spans retail, technology, hospitality and professional services, having also worked at Vodafone and PWC in a number of senior finance roles.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining Weightmans at a time when we are reporting record results.

“Weightmans prides itself on being an ambitious firm that not only hires and retains the leading experts in their field, but also genuine team players who care about their clients. We see this ethos reflected in our strong client relationships and these latest financials. It’s a great result for us and I’m looking forward to playing a part in the next chapter of our success.”

Managing partner John Schorah added: “We are extremely proud of our results for half year, our best to date which set us on course for further growth over the coming months. When we introduced a new strategy in May, growth and success for both ourselves and our clients were central to its implementation and execution and these results are a testament to that.

“Bob’s arrival is another representation of this strategy in action – with his background he brings a fresh, commercial perspective and outlook to the firm and has the experience, track record and drive we need for such a pivotal role.”
