New owners for North Yorkshire pub

North Yorkshire pub The Farmers Arms is under new ownership after a couple purchased the business to “start a new life” and put growth plans in place.

The Farmers Arms is a traditional Yorkshire Dales pub and has been purchased by Chris and Karen Stanley.  Chris Stanley said: “We were looking for a new challenge but wanted a totally different pace of life and buying The Farmers Arms is a perfect relocation opportunity for us. We have always dreamed of owning our own business and relocating to North Yorkshire is the start of a new life for both of us.

“Barclays moved quickly to put the funding in place for the purchase and we now have a suite of facilities with them to support our growth plans for the future.”

The pub, which also includes a holiday let, prides itself on local ales and homemade food in the village of Muker, which has remained unchanged for centuries. The Farmers Arms has achieved national accolades as one of the public house best destinations and plans for new facilities are already underway for this popular cycling destination.

The purchase completed after the new owners secured funding from Barclays. Clive Richmond, Barclays business manager, said: ‘’It’s so rewarding working with customers to achieve their long held dreams and support them with not only finance, but guidance and specialist support.

“We worked with Chris and Karen to quickly provide funding and banking facilities and we’re looking forward to seeing their business grow as they develop their plans and start their new life in the Yorkshire Dales.”
