The Magical Lantern Festival returns to Yorkshire this weekend, and will be open five days a week.

The festival, held in Roundhay Park in Leeds, will illuminate the area into a spectacular vibrant sight and is open every day during the school holidays, expect Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

It is returning for a second time after a very successful 2016, showcasing large illuminated hand-sculptured lanterns of all shapes and sizes for all the whole family to enjoy. This will include a ‘Polar Bears on Ice’ lantern.

A spokesperson said: ” We promise visitors a truly amazing experience, a visual feast of light and illumination, hidden amongst the grandeur of Europe’s largest city park, which lends itself perfectly to the layout of the lanterns with its combination of lakes, woodland, gardens and pathways.

“The festival will not only wow visitors with its beautiful hand-sculpted lanterns, the entertainment area adds another dimension to this wonderful night out with a food and drink area, bar, Santa’s Grotto, handful of fairground rides for children and merhandise marquee where visitors can buy a souvenir of their experience to take home.”

The festival is open from 5pm to 10pm with last entry at 9pm.
