Filmore & Union named in Fast Track 100 ‘Ones to Watch’ list

Yorkshire-based food and drink brand Filmore & Union has been named in the Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 list of the top 10 ‘Ones to Watch’ rising companies in the UK.

Fast Track 100 ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales. As part of the annual listing, ten companies have been chosen in the ‘Ones to Watch’ category for their potential to win a place in the Fast Track 100 in the future including Filmore & Union, which announced a £3.5m investment from Business Growth Fund to finance its expansion across the North of England.

Others in the ‘Ones to Watch’ list include online fashion retailer In the Style, natural nut butter manufacturer Pip + Nut, and static bike manufacturer Wattbike.

Filmore & Union is the only Yorkshire-based company to make the list.

The company, which specialises in healthy but delicious food and drink in a ‘neighbourhood dining’ environment including its hand-crafted Coeliac UK accredited cakes made in its own gluten free bakery, has also been shortlisted in the menu innovation category of the Casual Dining Awards 2018.

Filmore & Union is the only Yorkshire-based company shortlisted and is alongside national chains Ask Italian, Bella Italia, Bill’s Restaurants, Jamie’s Italian, Zizzi and Wagamama.

Filmore & Union now has 14 restaurants and take out delis in towns across Yorkshire and the North East with a new restaurant in Newcastle’s Jesmond opening this month and and several more in the pipeline across the North of England in 2018.

Founder Adele Ashley says: “We’re proud to be representing Yorkshire on a national stage through both of these prestigious awards. We’ve deliberately focused on embedding ourselves into the Yorkshire region and creating a ‘neighbourhood dining’ model that works before expanding into new areas. As we expand across the North of England we are determined to maintain the ‘independent’ feel of each of our restaurants and take out delis, and continue to innovate to stay one step ahead so that we can bring local customers something that can’t usually be found outside major cities.”
