Manufacturer heats up expansion plans with relocation

A Hull company which specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of heating and ventilation systems, has relocated to larger premises on Priory Park as part of its plans to capitalise on opportunities within the renewable energy sector.

Glenair, which was established in 2008, has invested in additional manufacturing and production equipment as part of the move, which will help to boost the efficiency of the company’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for renewables applications.

The relocation and investment has been assisted by the Green Port Growth Programme, supported by the Regional Growth Fund (RGF), which provided capital funding towards the new premises and equipment.

Glen Hood, managing director at Glenair, said: “The move to Priory Park and investment in equipment will be instrumental in the growth of our business. Not only can we provide a more robust service to our existing clients, but it will put us in a strong position to win work in renewable energy, a sector which has high demand for offshore ventilation, evaporative cooling and heat recovery systems. Without the support of the Green Port Growth Programme, we wouldn’t be able to move into new areas of business.”

Tim Rix, chairman of the Green Port Growth Programme, said: “Glenair is one of many businesses in Hull who have realised the potential opportunities in the emerging renewable energy sector in the UK. The new facility and equipment will stand them in good stead to win new contracts and we’re delighted to have supported Glen and the team.”
