Manufacturer dials up £200,000 telecoms contract

Yorkshire manufacturer Andel has scooped a £200,000 contract to carry out environmental protection work for one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies.

The Huddersfield based company’s contract with Telefonica will see it install water leak detection systems in 16 of the firm’s technical sites across the UK.

Andel will install its Floodline leak detection systems in buildings to allow early action to prevent damage, reduce disruption and limit loss.

The win completes a year of success for the manufacturer which also saw it celebrate 25 years in business.

Commercial director, Mark Harris, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract with such a prestigious global telecommunications company.

“We’re looking forward to working with Telefonica to carry out a total upgrade of their systems.”

Simon Wedd of Telefonica said: ‘‘We will be able to keep all 16 sites operational whilst carrying out the work which is critical to ensuring the network continues to function effectively and customers can still use their mobile phones.”
