£30m waterside scheme unveiled

Plans for a £30m waterside residential development in Doncaster, which will create 147 homes on 5.6 hectares, have been unveiled.

Leeds-based partnership homes developer Lovell has unveiled will create the three- and four-bedroom homes at Doncaster Lakeside. A number of the new homes will overlook the 50-acre lake.

Lovell regional managing director Robert Adams said: “The scheme will meet the strong demand that exists locally for high-quality new-build homes, with our house types carefully designed to suit a variety of prospective buyers, from young professionals and downsizers to families.

“Residents will enjoy all the advantages of living at Doncaster Lakeside with excellent transport connections and a superb choice of leisure and shopping facilities on their doorstep, as well as the chance to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of the waterside setting.”

Lovell is set to start preparatory work on the Doncaster Lakeside site before beginning construction work on the new homes in summer 2018. The first homes for sale are expected to be ready in 2019 with the overall development set to be completed in 2022.

The Doncaster Lakeside scheme is the latest in a series of major land-led developments finalised by Lovell’s Eastern regional business since August 2017. They include The Coppice – a £12m development of 47 homes at Chapel-en-le-Frith in the Derbyshire Peak District – and The Spires, a £13.2m, 73-home scheme at Branston, near Lincoln.

Adams added: “This scheme sets the seal on an excellent 12 months for Lovell Eastern.  Lovell’s regional forward order book now exceeds £100 million thanks to its success in securing major land-led new homes developments as well as new homes schemes in partnership with housing associations and local authorities.”
