Duo transform redundant residential home into a luxury hotel

Scarborough-based Andrew and Mica Wyatt have breathed new life into a redundant residential home and transformed it into a luxury hotel.

They have named their new business The Chapel House Hotel have completed the restoration project after receiving a  six-figure funding package from HSBC.

With renovation now complete, the new hotel and restaurant, located on South Cliff, has 14 en-suite bedrooms and provides guests and the public with a restaurant and bar. It is a privately-owned business which will be managed alongside their previously renovated 9 bedroom hotel “17 West Street.”

Andrew Wyatt, director at The Chapel House, said: “We aim to provide affordable luxury accommodation in the area as well as a venue for family celebrations and business meetings. The Chapel House is a beautiful property, with a lot of history behind it and we look forward to welcoming guests.”

The funding deal was led by Martin Goodall, HSBC’s relationship manager for North and East Yorkshire, and provided the financial foundations needed to renovate the hotel and expand and cement its business in Scarborough. The opening of The Chapel House has created seven new jobs.
