Plans for £22.3m Knaresborough development approved
Yorkshire homebuilder Avant Homes has been granted planning permission to build a development of 78 new homes in Knaresborough.
The developer has acquired a 7.2-acre site for the £22.3m development off Bar Lane, which will be Avant Homes’ first development in the town.
Properties will be a mixture of two-bedroom mews, three-bedroom semi-detached and four and five-bedroom detached homes.
Ground works on the site are due to commence in February 2018, with construction set to begin in May 2018. The first homes are scheduled to be ready for occupation in December 2018.
Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director, Rob Slocombe, said: “The acquisition of land in Knaresborough is a key part of our strategic growth plans, as we expand our operations into North Yorkshire.
“We are very much looking forward to bringing our first development to Knaresborough and are expecting to see strong demand for our range of innovatively-designed new homes.”
Avant Homes will also deliver 31 affordable homes and invest more than £300,000 in education, infrastructure and travel initiatives for the town, including the development of public open spaces and a habitat area for local great crested newts.

For the financial year to 30 April 2017, Avant Homes group posted both record revenue and operating profit numbers. Revenues increased 45% year-on-year to £369m, whilst operating profits rose 107% to £45m. These were delivered having achieved 1,636 total completions, up 35% compared with the prior year.
