What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

My favourite place to visit is Scarborough with my wife and daughters. A stay in the Sands apartments, fish broth in the “Blue Crush Diner” downstairs, crazy golf, and then onto the amusements to win a load of yellow tickets.

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?

The Magical Lantern festival at Roundhay Park.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had?

My first date with my, now, wife. We ate black pasta.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

Friendly and easy going but shrewd in business.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.

That 216 million visits to Yorkshire are made every year, which is equivalent to the total number of visitors to Walt Disney Theme Parks worldwide.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

Yorkshire pudding.

First experience of Yorkshire (for non-Yorkies)

A good cycle ride or run in the Yorkshire Dales, amazing scenery and hills, followed by one of Yorkshire’s many locally brewed ales in a proper Yorkshire pub. There are many incredible locally brewed ales across Yorkshire.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

The worst thing is that not everyone can have the pleasure of living here.

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

Nothing.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

The M1 South!
