Country pub near Harrogate hits the market

New owners are being sought for a village pub near Harrogate.

The Hare & Hounds in Burton Leonard is a traditional village inn thought to date from the 19th century.

Having owned the Hare & Hounds for over 10 years, current owner Rob Gilpin has decided that, with a young growing family and his other pub near Northallerton taking increasing amounts of his time, it is time to sell.

The property benefits from a range of bar and dining facilities, offering a combined total of 85 covers.

There is also a four bedroom private apartment, car park and beer garden, as well as agreed planning permission to add six letting bedrooms.

Nick Thomas of Fleurets is marketing the pub’s freehold.

He said: “The availability of the Hare & Hounds provides a great opportunity for enthusiastic operators to acquire a village freehouse and restaurant which, whilst currently closed, has shown historic trading levels of in excess of £400,000 net of VAT per annum. Now with planning consent for six letting bedrooms, there is great scope for new owners to develop the trade and enjoy the benefits of living and working in this beautiful part of North Yorkshire.”

The Hare & Hounds is available off a freehold guide price of £450,000.
