New depot opens after £500,000 investment

A new 15,000 st ft depot at pre-construction services firm Central Alliance has been opened by former rugby player Jason Robinson.

Central Alliance opened the new sites services and plant depot in Normanton as part of the company’s growth strategy, which in recent months has seen the company invest £500,000 in both plant and personnel. Around 20 jobs have been created

The Wakefield-headquartered firm said the investment was part of its approach to open new market sectors as well as consolidate its ‘one-stop-shop’ commitment to service delivery.

Jason Robinson, an English former dual-code international rugby player and try scorer in England’s 2003 England World Cup final victory against Australia, opened Central House this week.

The former Wigan winger, who also famously helped the club to its 1994 World Club Challenge victory over Australian premiers, the Brisbane Broncos, cut the ribbon on the new site.

Pete Bevils, CEO of Central Alliance said: “This new depot is a significant investment for the company, which is expanding almost exponentially. Having Jason Robinson, a local to the area and keen supporter of local businesses, open the site gives the event the status and profile it deserves.”

The new depot includes an accompanying new office area, and will accommodate the company’s geotechnical fleet, with enough capacity to future-proof plant additions. Its head office functions remain in Wakefield.
