KPMG launches digital apprenticeship scheme

KPMG has launched a digital degree apprenticeship scheme with places available at its Leeds office.

KPMG360o Digital is a four-year programme which combines on-the-job work experience with the opportunity to gain a BSc degree from BPP University in Digital and Technology Solutions, while earning a salary.

Tuition fees are fully funded by KPMG and successful candidates will work towards a permanent role at the end of the programme.

The scheme will initially offer four places in Leeds as well as 13 in London and 10 in Manchester and will allow apprentices to take a number of placements within technology teams across the firm including technology solutions, cyber security and forensic technology.

Running alongside the firm’s existing apprenticeship and graduate schemes, KPMG says the programme will complement its recruitment strategy by broadening the breadth of entry level programmes to support the increasing focus on tech in client work.

Applicants will be offered the opportunity to master new technologies such as cloud, data analytics and artificial intelligence.

The professional services firm is recruiting now for individuals to join this and other apprenticeship programmes in September 2018, in Leeds and other UK offices.

Phil Murden, head of management consulting at KPMG in Leeds, said:“Our new degree is the latest example of both our organisation’s increasing emphasis on technology in order to provide the best services to clients and our aim to attract, develop and retain the best talent, offering unique experiences in our different business areas.

“We can only maximise the opportunities technological change provides if the skills of our workforce match the investment we are making in new technology. The introduction of this programme highlights the value we place on technical specialists who are just as good with cutting-edge technology as they are with facts and figures.”
