Leeds Rhinos CEO to host upcoming business and sport forum

Gary Hetherington, the CEO of Leeds Rhinos, will be the host at a forum next month which will explore how sport and business work together across the north.

The Game Changers Business of Sport Forum, taking place at Aspire in Leeds on March 1,  will also see Sophie Radcliffe; a blogger, endurance athlete, model and adventurer, talk – alongside Sarah Bohner, head of product at the NFL; Jon Dutton, chief executive of the Rugby World Cup 2021 and Andy Milnes, group account director at global marketing agency Nielsen Sports.

Each speaker will share their relationship between sport and business, from the economic impact of hosting a major international event to maximising commercial revenue in sport.

The event takes place on Thursday 1 March from 12noon-5pm at Aspire in Leeds. It is a joint venture between Leeds marketing agency Banana Kick, Leeds Business Improvement District (LeedsBID) and TheBusinessDesk.com

Banana Kick chief exec Gary McCall said: “This is a first class line up of speakers who have a real understanding of the game changing benefits that sport and business can create. Taking place on the same day as the Leeds Sports Awards, it’s another great reminder of what sport can achieve in Leeds, Yorkshire and beyond.”

LeedsBID Chief Executive Andrew Cooper added: “We are delighted Leeds is staging this new business event which not only reinforces the important role sport plays in our city but also its impact on a broader scale.

“LeedsBID is very much an advocate of what can be achieved by bringing sectors together to work collaboratively and this forum will help to illustrate that.”

Tickets are priced at £60 plus VAT and includes lunch.
