Law firm announces further expansion

Property paralegal Chloe Lawson, business development consultant Rory Gibson, property lawyer Jackie Howard, legal secretary Katie Gibson and director Andrew Cawkwell.

Newtons Solicitors, which has its head office in Knaresborough, has announced plans to develop a full-service office in Stockton following the successful opening of its latest branch.

The company has also recently made a string of hires as it further invests in the area.

Jackie Howard and her team have been appointed to start building the Stockton office of Newtons. Howard was previously at Freers Askew Bunting Solicitors and specialises in residential property transactions.

Andrew Cawkwell, insolvency and turnaround director of Newtons Solicitors, says: “We’re thrilled to welcome Jackie and her team to the firm. The new office has had a great start. It’s already offering a hugely valuable service to clients and we look forward to investing further in the area, by making it a full-service office.”

Meanwhile, the firm has also welcomed Rory Gibson, a former branch manager at Handelsbanken, to its Durham office to introduce the firm to businesses in the Durham, Stockton and Darlington areas.

Cawkwell added: “The office in Durham has quickly gone from strength to strength. We are delighted to welcome Rory Gibson and we’re taking on extra office space, to accommodate the further new recruits that we plan to appoint this year.”

Chris Newton, managing director of Newtons Solicitors, says: “An important part of delivering our expansion plans is making sure we have the right people in the right places. Our new hires mean we can continue with our planned growth as well as deliver a fantastic service to our clients.”
