Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet is kicking off the new financial year with a raft of promotions.

The firm is adding a new member to its partnership and promoting four solicitors to associate.

Residential conveyancing specialist and head of Taylor&Emmet’s Dronfield branch, Sarah Gaunt, has become an equity partner, to acknowledge the contribution she has made to the firm since joining as a trainee in 1998, the firm said.

She also runs her department’s new homes section and works with a number of housing associations.

Two probate solicitors, Simon Eyre-Wood and Ben Brown, have achieved associate status, along with Camilla Attwood and John Green from the firm’s clinical negligence and personal injury teams respectively.

Global professional services firm Turner & Townsend, which has its headquarters in Leeds, has appointed David Whysall as managing director of its UK infrastructure business.

Whysall has spent 14 years with the business since joining as a graduate in 2004. During that time he has designed and implemented commercial strategies, assurance functions and managed major programme delivery teams for some of the most high profile capital investment programmes in the UK, including Heathrow Airport’s transformation, Anglian Water, High Speed 2 and Crossrail.  He was previously head of Turner & Townsend’s 500 strong Infrastructure South team and a member of the UK board.

Whysall who has been part of the Infrastructure leadership team for the past six years, will report to Turner & Townsend UK managing director Patricia Moore and manage a team of 900 people across the UK & Ireland.

The infrastructure business covers the transport, power, utilities and defence sectors and has seen 20% year on year growth over the past three years with turnover now reaching £100m in 2017/18.

Huddersfield sales coaching company Ventas has announced the appointment of a new advisory board member amid plans to triple its client base by the end of 2018.

Mick Brant, strategy and growth director at Brighouse marketing agency, Vizulate Digital, has joined the company to advise on its growth over the next 12 months and beyond.

Brant brings over 35 years of board level experience ranging from start-ups to multi-million pound international businesses, having held CEO and director-level roles at stock market and equity analysis firm MSCI and US bank Mellon.

He will work closely with Ventas founder and managing director, Pete Evans, as the company continues its expansion throughout the UK.

Brant said: “The Ventas formula of marrying its team’s experience of sales coaching and sales success, with industry leading tools from global organisations such as SalesStar, provides a unique offering that is very attractive to businesses serious about sales growth.
