People: Accountancy firm makes four promotions; Wykeland appoints development director; and more

North Yorkshire chartered accountancy practice Ashby Berry Coulsons has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of four new directors.

Tim Boorer, Aimee Hickey, Anna Wiffen and Anne Mead have all been promoted to the post from within in the practice, which is headquartered in Scarborough, and also has offices in Malton and Helmsley.

Graeme Hay and Tim Jones, directors of Ashby Berry Coulsons, said: “We and the rest of the senior team are confident they will ensure the practice continues to provide the comprehensive range of first-class personal and professional service we have delivered for more than 50 years, as well as enabling us to adapt to changes ahead such as Making Tax Digital and Auto Enrolment.”

Commercial property development company Wykeland Group has appointed Jonathan Stubbs as development director.

Previously the company’s head of development, Stubbs steps up to the Wykeland board with a brief to fulfil the potential of existing developments and identify new opportunities.

Stubbs joined Wykeland two years ago and has played a key role in taking forward a number of schemes, including the £17m Treadmills redevelopment of the former Northallerton Prison site in North Yorkshire, working in partnership with Hambleton District Council.

Wykeland managing director Dominic Gibbons said: “Jonathan’s appointment recognises the excellent contribution he has made since joining the business.

“He brings a wealth of experience to the Board, especially of the Yorkshire property scene, and his appointment will support the further growth of the business.

“Jonathan will focus both on new prospects and evolving developments, such as the Treadmills scheme, further opportunities at Europarc in Grimsby, the development of the former Ramsdens store in Grimsby, and our G@Glasshoughton development off junction 32 of the M62 in West Yorkshire.”

Carter Towler has promoted Chris Lewis to associate director and Daniel Duce to associate.

Commenting on the promotions, managing director Ian Greenwood, said: “It’s great to see these two gentlemen progressing so well; they have both made a fantastic contribution to the business.

“Chris is an extremely loyal and hardworking member of our property management division. Since he joined Carter Towler aged just 16 in 1989 he has steadfastly developed his career and now manages a very large mixed portfolio of over 200 properties.

“Daniel on the other hand joined us relatively recently having previously worked in a number of management positions. He has played an instrumental role in developing our building consultancy which has doubled in size in the past 12 months.”
Carter Towler employs 47 people across its five divisions – retail, office and industrial agencies; property management and building consultancy.

Connect Yorkshire has promoted  Sophie Patton to chief operating officer.
