Hot yoga studio opens at £6m development

A hot yoga studio has opened at K2, the £6m mixed-use scheme in Hull city centre.

Lion Heart Hot Yoga Hull has signed a 10-year lease on the eighth floor of the development.

The facility includes a dedicated hot yoga studio, capable of reaching 40°C with 40% relative humidity, and two treatment rooms, alongside on-site shower and changing facilities and a refreshment area offering a range of organic food and drink.

The studio is the first of its kind in East Yorkshire and one of only a handful in the North of England. It will offer a range of Bikram, Yin Yoga and Sports Yoga, as well as Hot Pilates, with classes running seven days a week.

Michelle Shenton, Bikram yoga teacher and founder of Lion Heart, said: “Lion Heart is one of the country’s finest destination hot yoga centres, and our aim is to attract yoga practitioners from across the country to Hull. It’s great to be part of K2 and we’re delighted that Tradepark shares our vision. The building is fantastic, offering stunning 360° views over the city, in a tranquil, welcoming space that’s perfect for yoga practice.”

Mark Butters, director at Beverley-based developer Tradepark, said: “Wellbeing is an important part of the K2 concept and, in addition to the yoga studio, we have Rise, a fully-equipped gym and a dedicated workout studio. With summer around the corner, we will soon be opening The Track, a dedicated space on one of our rooftop terraces for al-fresco fitness classes and bootcamps – perfect for the busy working crowd.”
