National role for entrepreneur

Melanie Ulyatt MBE, managing director of Chesterfield-based One to One Support Services, has been appointed to a national role by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

Ulyatt is now part of the FSB’s national board of directors, having joined the team as national vice-chair and will be responsible for developing and delivering the organisation’s policies, procedures and programmes of small business support and lobbying.

She has been a member of FSB since 2009, holding several roles including regional chair (since 2012) and policy representative (2017). She is also active with the Local Enterprise Partnership, having secured a seat on the local LEP board in 2015. She was also appointed chair of the Skills and Employment Commission. Her work with FSB as well as her local LEP groups – Sheffield City Region (SCR) and Notts and Derby (D2N2) led to recognition in 2017 with an MBE for services to business and entrepreneurship.

Ulyatt said: “As a business owner and long-standing member of FSB, I am delighted to be taking on this new role. FSB is rightly respected by leading politicians and policymakers. This position will allow me to focus on my vision to support FSB’s evolution, making it a more prosperous, better connected, and increasingly resilient and competitive.”
