Bathroom supplier to create jobs in major expansion

A bathroom supplier, which says it can trace its roots back to a collaboration with Thomas Crapper, the inventor of the flushing toilet, has secured a seven-figure funding deal as it plans for a major expansion.

Keighley-based Harrison Bathrooms supplies more than 1,000 retailers and plumbers merchants nationwide with a next day service from its ‘SCUDO’ branded catalogue.

The funding provided by HSBC will support Harrison Bathrooms’ ambitious growth strategy. This includes bringing new ranges into its catalogue and expanding its fleet of vehicles with a new depot in the South East.

The company also plans to create 15 jobs and increase turnover by 50% over a two year period, from £12.5m to more than £18m.

James Harrison, managing director of Harrison Bathrooms, said: “We look forward to working with HSBC to broaden the market for Harrison Bathrooms into the South East of England whilst increasing our product portfolio to our existing customer base.”

Anthony Wild, HSBC relationship director for West Yorkshire, said: “It’s fantastic to support a family business with such a heritage grow. Harrison Bathrooms has high standards when it comes to sourcing products and we understood how important it is for them not to compromise these values as the business grows. This marks an exciting new chapter for Harrison Bathrooms, we look forward to working with them as the business expands.”
