Yorkshire hotel and leisure developer acquires iconic Warwickshire hall

Hotel and leisure developers Northern Powerhouse Developments has acquired a Grade II listed hall in Warwickshire.

The Yorkshire-based group’s purchase of Bourton Hall takes the number of UK hotels owned by NPD to 16.

Close to Stratford-upon-Avon and set in 16 acres, Bourton Hall will shortly undergo extensive renovation to transform it into a luxury hotel and spa retreat.

Bourton Hall dates back to 1791 and boasts a wealth of original features, many designed and built by the famous architect H.A Peto.

NPD chairman Gavin Woodhouse said: “We are delighted to have completed on the purchase of this exceptional country hotel which lies in one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations.

“Steeped in history it is an area of incredible charm and beauty and Bourton Hall, with its stunning architecture and beautiful grounds, will provide the perfect retreat for guests looking to relax and unwind in style.

“Over the coming months we will sympathetically transform the main hall of the building to provide 56 luxurious ensuite bedrooms while outside we will introduce further bedrooms to the existing stable blocks, build a state-of-the-art spa and add luxurious villas in the grounds.”
