Perks and benefits firm scales up in Sheffield

Perkbox, the UK’s fastest growing employee benefits platform, is preparing for further growth in its Sheffield team with a move to larger premises.

The Sheffield team, which began life early last year and is now 55 people strong, will be relocating from Scotland Street to Saville Street, Sheffield. The move to its new 6,400 sq ft office space completes today – allowing the firm to double the team.

Perkbox was founded in 2015 and turnover jumped from £4.3m in 2015 to £14.7m in 2016; unaudited  2017 turnover was £34m .The business is striving to reach a turnover of £50m by the end of this year.

The move will also encourage an atmosphere where employees want to spend time, offering perks such as an open plan kitchen, a pool table and lots of gaming space.

Perkbox will also be relocating its London-based Sales Director, Jack Beldon, to the Sheffield offices. He will become the SME Customer Success Director to reinforce Perkbox’s dedication both to the Sheffield team and to the SME segment. He will be the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) member permanently resident in Sheffield.

With Perkbox priding itself for being the only truly scalable SME solution, Jack’s move and the Sheffield team as a whole will become crucial to the company’s success. Perkbox has over 7,000 customers in the UK which include  names such as LendInvest.

The Sheffield team will now comprise the entire Customer Happiness team and the SME Customer Success function,. The plans, according to the company, are to continue expanding both teams and slowly adding new functions to complete them.

Saurav Chopra, Perkbox Co-founder and CEO said:“ We are very proud to have become an employer of choice in the area, with a clear distinctive culture that is very much aligned to Perkbox London. But it’s important that as we grow, we can ensure that we can keep this going. We’re aware that a culture of 10 people can never be the same as that of 100. However, at the same time, we believe that there is nothing that can ever take away our identity, mission and values.”

Councillor Mazher Iqbal, Cabinet Member for Business and Innovation at Sheffield City Council, added: “I am thrilled that Perkbox is moving into larger premises, encouraging our talented young graduates to stay in our brilliant city and demonstrating other businesses the countless benefits that they can get by following the Perkbox example.

“What’s more, in Sheffield we’re interested in attracting those businesses that give as much importance to retaining employees as they do to retaining customers, offering our graduates the opportunity to work for truly inspirational leaders. We believe that Perkbox acts as a role model in this respect and are delighted by that.”
