Specialist manufacturer doubles turnover on back of major contract wins

Laser cutting and metal fabrication equipment supplier MBA Engineering has doubled turnover in the last 12 months, driven by an influx of machine sales.

The fibre laser specialist based in Wetherby reported turnover of £1.4m for 2017/18, an increase of 94% compared to the previous year.

MBA said the growth is partly due to its exclusive partnership with Polish fibre laser manufacturer Kimla, which has seen its client base grow considerably.

The company’s success in the past year has sparked ambitious plans to invest and expand its machine moving service.

Bradley McBain, managing director of MBA Engineering, said: “Reflecting on the development of MBA Engineering over the past year feels like a great achievement with our 94% growth, which is thanks to the commitment and hard work of the MBA Engineering team.

“We are dedicated to the Kimla brand and spreading awareness of the advantages it has to offer is one of our priorities, alongside providing the best customer service in the industry.

“The growth of the company has allowed us to expand our team and develop specific aspects of the business, such as the machine installations, which is a key area we’d like to develop moving forward.”
