Hairdressing tool specialist cuts ahead with expansion after six-figure deal

Harrogate-based hairdressing tool brand Cloud Nine, which has its products stocked at stores including Harvey Nichols and John Lewis, has expanded into new premises after securing a six-figure funding deal.

The business, established in 2009, manufactures a range of hairdressing tools and has seen rapid growth in over 24 countries over the last nine years.

The brand creates products such as its Touch Iron and O Rollers while Cloud Nine has also appeared at fashion shows around the world in collaboration with designers such as Charlotte Olympia, Anya Hindmarch and Emilio de la Morena.

After enjoying increasing demand, the business choose to expand into a larger warehouse facility in Hornbeam Park.

The new 18,000 sq ft premises provides the business with greater stock capacity and improves warehouse efficiency. Cloud Nine expects to create up to five jobs and increase turnover by 25% in the next 12 months as a result of the expansion.

Cloud Nine has also taken steps to expand its European operations in Italy and Spain with the backing of trade finance from HSBC. This expansion is expected to increase turnover by €10m over the next three years.
