Industrial estate set for £1m refurb

The Ringway industrial estate in Huddersfield town centre is to undergo a major refurbishment to revamp the 140,000 sq ft site.

A £1m redevelopment programme has started which will continue into 2019. The works include new roofs, cladding, automated roller shutter doors, reconfigured offices to meet modern standards, LED lighting and improved landscaping.

Units from 2,000 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft will be available offering trade counter and industrial units to a range of potential occupiers.

Current occupiers include Siemens, The Gym Group, Toolstation, Newey & Eyre, Crown Paints, Edmundson Electrical and Sally Beauty.

Tom Goode, industrial property specialist with Knight Frank in Leeds, said: “The central location and high quality of product that Ringway is going to offer will appeal to a range of occupiers. There is a lack of stock both in Huddersfield and the wider region and we’ve already received a good level of enquiries before the works have even started.”

Josh Holmes of Carter Towler, the joint marketing agents for Ringway, added: “This is an established industrial and trade counter location in the heart of Huddersfield. Once refurbished, they will boast high quality accommodation with offices and dedicated loading and car parking provision, set within an attractive and well-maintained landscaped setting.”

Jonathan Hodgson of Howlings Hodgson is the lead consultant for Ringway.
