Sheffield’s Electric Works fully let

The final unit at Electric Works in Sheffield has been let to a business management consultancy, marking 100% capacity at the creative office building.

Creative Space Management (CSM), which is the managing and letting agent for Electric Works, has confirmed that Marjolo has taken up a 440 sq ft space at the development, having previously operated from a virtual office base in Chesterfield.

Electric Works has developed more than 100 creative, digital and new media start-ups and SMEs over the last decade.

Established in 2015, Marjolo offers its clients a range of services to help grow their business or evolve their organisation, with a focus on digital transformation and innovation. The twelve-strong team works across a number of sectors including fast moving consumer goods, financial services, logistics and the public sector. Following a period of rapid expansion, the company has plans to employ four new members of staff in the next six months.

Dave King, CEO at Marjolo said: “We looked at a number of offices in Chesterfield and couldn’t find anything that fitted our needs, so it made sense for us to head north to Sheffield. Electric Works stood out from all other developments we looked at.

“The location was a key factor for us, being so near to the train station is a huge bonus as we have many clients visiting us from all over the country. There’s a wonderful, creative atmosphere here, from the different offices to the break out spaces and common areas. We’re really enjoying being here so far and it’s great to have the flexibility to grow the team in our new space.”

There are now 56 businesses located at Electric Works, which was the first office development of its type in Sheffield, catering specifically for fast-growth creative, digital and technology start-ups and SMEs.

Paul Taylor from CSM, managing agent for Electric Works, added: “We’re delighted to have Marjolo mark the 100% let milestone for Electric Works. Despite being at high occupancy for many years, due to the high growth nature of businesses based in the building and the very flexible terms we have never hit this milestone before. However, it won’t be long before the next batch of businesses expand into neighbouring buildings such as Park Hill and Acero, allowing other organisations to move in and start their growth story, contributing to an ever-strengthening local economy.”
