Contractor wins major council contract

Leeds-based drainage and groundworks company Jet Aire Services has secured a 12-month contract to provide highways maintenance services to Rochdale Borough Council.

Work started this month to provide support to main contractor Balfour Beatty in the management of the council’s highway infrastructure assets which include over 570km of road.

Jet Aire’s programme includes CCTV surveys, jet vacuuming, pipe lining repairs and civil engineering works.

Jet Aire Services director, Keith Ferris, said: “This major contract represents another milestone in the company’s growth and we are delighted to be working with Balfour Beatty, a leading international infrastructure group. It is the latest in a series of six-figure contracts which Jet Aire Services has won in the past 18 months. Securing this business is a reflection of our investment in a high level of training, resources and quality management which has been ongoing for the past two years and recently continued with another five recycler units added to our fleet.”

Last year Jet Aire Services launched a civil engineering and groundworks division to to add to its drainage services offering.

Ferris said: “This new capability has enabled us to develop new business supplying both highways and sewer adoption for various clients in the public and private sectors. It was instrumental in our successful tender for the full programme of works from Rochdale Borough Council.”

With a Middlesbrough office in addition to its Aberford HQ, Jet Aire Services has been established for more than 30 years.
