Bradford-based motor retailer JCT600 has added to its portfolio of prestige car marques with the acquisition of two Jaguar and Land Rover businesses.

The Doncaster Jaguar and Doncaster Land Rover dealerships have been purchased from Pendragon, owner of Stratsone, for an undisclosed sum.

All staff at the businesses, both of which are located on Wheatley Hall Road, have been transferred to JCT600.   The new dealerships will operate as JCT600 Jaguar Doncaster and JCT600 Land Rover Doncaster.

JCT600 said the addition of Jaguar and Land Rover reinforces the company’s geographic coverage and strengthens its operations in Doncaster where it already has Audi and Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

JCT600 also represents brands such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche at dealerships from Yorkshire and the North East to Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.  It employs over 2,250 people across the region and recently announced record sales with turnover reaching £1.251bn.

JCT600 chief executive John Tordoff said: “The addition of Jaguar and Land Rover to our stable of prestigious car marques is a perfect fit – it is the first time we have represented the brand which was the obvious missing link in our portfolio.  With more than 70 years’ heritage representing some of the world’s most respected car brands, we are excited to be bringing Jaguar and Land Rover’s stylish range to our customers with a stunning choice of luxury sports cars, executive saloons and, of course, its iconic four-wheel drive and SUVs.

“We look forward to building on our success in Doncaster, recruiting new talent to work alongside the existing team as we develop the dealerships over the coming months and years.  We are confident that they will grow and flourish as part of the established JCT600 group.”

JCT600 was advised by James Fawcett of Gordons.
