338 new homes to be built as part of hat-trick of development site sales

A hat-trick of sales across three residential development sites will lead to the delivery of 338 new homes in West and East Yorkshire.

The largest of the hat trick of sales negotiated by Cushman & Wakefield is a 20-acre plot of surplus land owned by Hull & East Yorkshire NHS Trust.

The land opposite Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham has been sold to Persimmon Homes., which is proposing a scheme of 180 dwellings to include two, three and four-bedroom homes.

On behalf of Agfa Graphics, Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the sale of 7.6-acres of surplus land adjacent to its existing manufacturing facility at Coal Road in Leeds to Redrow Homes. Redrow has now commenced The Hawthorns development, comprising 72 three and four-bedroom homes.

Eight-acres of former agricultural land in Driffield, East Yorkshire, has been sold to Kier Living on behalf of the Highfield Partnership. The proposed scheme will deliver 86 three and four-bedroom homes and forms Phase 2 of its Sycamore Park development.

Phil Roebuck, partner and head of residential development at Cushman & Wakefield in Leeds, said: “The need to significantly increase the supply of housing of all types and tenures is well publicised. Working with housebuilders and land owners, we are looking to meet this challenge through the release and development of suitable land.

“We are delighted to have completed the sale of these three excellent development sites which will make a significant contribution to housing supply in West and East Yorkshire.”
